Lyndall Bass thought of herself as an artist at about age 6. She started studying art at studio schools before entering the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Her work is a reflection of realist painting traditions and personal poetry. She is listed in Wikipedia.

Bass is the recipient of a United Nations International Women's Year Award and a National Society of Arts and Letters Award. She has a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Education. As the United States Mint designer of the Lincoln penny "Shield Cent" her initials "LB" are stamped on the lower left.
